Our Community Offerings
Community engagement is central to our mission. Alongside our ongoing free workshops offered throughout the year, we develop impact-driven initiatives that expand access to contemporary dance across Puerto Rico.
Movement as Training & Wellness
At NA2 Dance Theater Corp., we approach dance not only as artistic expression, but as physical training and embodied practice. Our workshops emphasize strength, mobility, coordination, endurance, and body awareness, integrating principles from contemporary dance, conditioning, and movement-based disciplines such as Pilates.
Training in dance supports cardiovascular health, muscular development, flexibility, postural alignment, and injury prevention. Beyond the physical, movement practice enhances focus, emotional regulation, confidence, and overall psychological well-being.
Through accesible classes and community-based training spaces, we promote movement as a tool for health, resilience, and lifelong learning.
Diálogos Corporales expanded access to contemporary dance by bringing students to the Teatro Victoria Espinosa to experience live performances and participate in workshops and artist conversations.
Featuring artists from Puerto Rico, the United States, and Japan, the program fostered cross-cultural dialogue through embodied practice. The initiative was offered free of cost thanks to GEER ARP EARNS funding and the support of the Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueña.
Las Victorias is an interdisciplinary project honoring the legacy of Victoria Espinosa while amplifying Black artistic lineage in Puerto Rico. Supported by GEER ARP EARNS funds and the Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueña, the project impacted six public schools across different regions of the Puerto Rico Department of Education.
Offered free of cost to students, Las Victorias included workshops, live performances, and artist-led conversations, creating spaces for reflection, cultural memory, and embodied learning.
Semillero is a movement-based initiative supported by the Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueña (ICP). Directed by Norberto Collazo, the project brings movement workshops and performances to varied communities and age groups throughout Puerto Rico.
Cartas a Rafael is a performance-based community project that merges dance, memory, and written expression. The program was brought to Department of Education schools across Puerto Rico and offered free of cost to participating students. Each activation included a workshop, performance presentation, and artist conversation, encouraging participants to transform personal and collective narratives into embodied expression. This was possible thanks to GEER ARP EARNS funds and the support of the Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueña.
Las Victorias toured in collaboration with DanzaEduca, an outreach program directed by Mauro Ballet. In partnership with their organization, NA2 Dance Theater presented Las Victorias to students in Vieques, Puerto Rico, serving Department of Education schools.
Following the same format of workshops, performances, and post-show discussions, the program provided free access to contemporary dance experiences for students in the island municipality.
